OMIE is the “Nominated Electricity Market Operator” (NEMO) for the Iberian Peninsula, and it manages day-ahead and intraday markets for electricity in Spain and Portugal. These markets enable price training in a way that is competitive, public, and transparent for all agents. OMIE offers a wide range of services, including billing and settlement of energy bought and sold on these electricity markets.
In July 2015, OMIE obtained accreditation from the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) as a “Registered Reporting Mechanism (RRM),” as it was one of the first five RRMs in the EU, surpassing all of ACER's requirements to provide reporting services to agents.
