•    FINANCING ENTITY

The project has been funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Framework Program.

•     DURATION

From August 2020 to January 2022 (30 months).

•     GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The DRES2Market project aims to develop an affordable and appropriate approach to facilitate the effective integration of large volumes of renewable energy in the system and the active participation of distributed resources in the electricity markets, as well as to promote and allow their performance in services auxiliaries.

•     THE ROLE OF OMIE

OMIE seeks to provide the experience and knowledge of the electricity market as a Market Operator to analyze the state of the electricity regulatory framework, trying to identify the best practices within the project.

At the same time, it will provide a simulation environment facilitating agents access to global market platforms to understand their needs and evaluate the impact of installing different volumes of renewables and the participation of distributed generation applying different economic and regulatory assumptions in each scenario.

All of this will allow OMIE to improve and adapt existing markets to the needs and changes that arise. Similarly, it will seek to identify the information and economic flows that would be established between the different agents (different alternatives) to manage the integration process of all of them in the most efficient way possible. In addition, OMIE will have the opportunity not only to study the behavior of the integration of different volumes of renewables and distributed generation in current global markets, but also to test the platforms of local markets for flexibility.
