PLATFORM FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF LOCAL AND FLEXIBLE ELECTRICITY MARKETS

•    FINANCING ENTITY

The project has been financed by the Center for Industrial Technological Development, attached to the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

•     DURATION

From May 2020 to March 2022 (31 months).

•     GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The Simflex project addresses the creation of new platforms for the development and operation of local flexibility markets. To this end, the potential design of these markets will be analyzed, so that they are duly integrated with the European Market and the prices provided by it. Likewise, these new market tools offered in Simflex should allow, on the one hand, the new actors located in the distribution networks ("Distributed Energy Resources") to manage their production and consumption based on the existing conditions and prices and, on the other hand, the distribution network managers and the system operator manage the networks within their scope of action, solving persistent congestion and / or eventual problems.

•    THE ROLE OF OMIE

OMIE will investigate and define in detail the products and peculiarities of this new market model in order to design, develop and manage the operation of flexibility platforms.

To carry out all of the above, the platform will be provided with a robust technological support, the data structure and processes, the interfaces, web environments necessary will be design to accommodate the new actors, as well as the subsequent processes such as the settlement and invoicing of its operations in these new markets.

In addition to the above, it will be necessary to have internal tools that will allow OMIE to manage the trades at the local markets, carrying out the necessary operation and administration activities in those markets.
